Dog randomly wont come out of crate... help!?

My dog is a female maltese/poodle, 3 years old. She is fixed. She has never had any behavior problems in her life, but today I came inside and she is laying in her kennel with the door open. Usually she sits on the couch so this was odd, and when I tried to get her to leave she would not move. I bribed her with treats, which she ate if put in front of her, but would not move to get them (extremely out of character). She looks very tired and not like herself, but was normal earlier this morning. She has not been outside yet today, so no chance of eating something foreign. She is not hurt, as she stood up when i tried to get her out. She only usually goes in the kennel at nighttime to sleep. Any ideas as to what is wrong with her or suggestions? I have tried petting her, calling her, pulling the pillow she sleeps on out with her on it, but she will not move!

Ohkay someone help please? Right now I can't sleep. I get like this sometimes but never this bad. I've gotten barely any sleep the past two weeks because so much is bothering me. I'm an 18 year old male, I come from a farming family and my dad has spent his whole life raising and fattening up livestock. When I was 16 I was 140lbs, with a 30" waist. I'm now 207lbs and my belly has fattened up to 40.8". I have 'enjoyed' the experience and like my fat belly, why? Also my father seems to get a kick out of seeing me shirtless (usually when I'm midnight snacking) encouraging me to have an extra snack or two and watches my belly and fattening body. I’m in my mid twenties and I’m not petite, nor fat, nor anywhere around obesity at all. I’m just a little curvy. Picture the women in the Haynes commercials. Well, that’s me except for a smaller stomach. I have curves that I’m very proud of and wouldn’t trade for anything. After all, in my opinion, that’s one of the things that makes a women right? Well, not in my mother’s eyes. She is very petite for her size. She’s all about appearance really. And she is constantly getting on me about my weight. In high school I use to be a little skinnier (no hips or breasts) and she wants me to be like I was (as she remembered me to be). At first I paid her no attention. After all it’s like I said. I wasn’t anywhere near fat at all. Just curvier. But then she started to do and say things. Once she told me when we were having a talk that she was embarrassed of me as her daughter whenever I came around her and her friends. She asked me how I would feel if she was like me and she came around me and my friends. I burst out into tears toward the harsh comment. Then she hugged me and apologized when I was trying to push her away for such a comment. But this is just the tip of the icing. She says other things. She said she would buy me a car but I had to lose the weight she requires first. She tries to bribe me in many ways. Can I legally shoot a dog that is in my yard growling at my children and killing my livestock?

This is not my dog and we have asked the owners to please keep it on their property. They will not contain the dog in any way, They have brothers who work at the local police department so they will not even come out and talk to us. We have called animal control and the pound and they will not help as well. I'm out of options. This dog has cornered me and my children in our car jumping on the doors and barking/growling. More times than I can count it has made us run from our fenced in yard to the house before he could bite us. He has killed nearly 20 of our animals and run our cows through the fence. Yesterday was the last straw it grabbed one of our turkeys and tore it to shreds before I could hit him enough times with a shovel to make him stop. I ran inside with the turkey and by the time I came back outside the dog was back inside its house. I'm sure the neighbors heard me screaming or maybe even saw what happen. How do I catch a wild hog?

Yes I have an answer for you. You need to get yourself some heavy (Tubular steel posts) and some very strong steel fencing. You will make a trap for the pigs by having them walk into a trap door gate that they push open to get in, but they can't open it to get out. you will dig in posts into the ground about 5 feet away from each other in a circular or square shape and then attach the fence to them making a corral or kennel. You could also use heavy trees as posts to attach the fence too. You will make a heavy duty spring retained one way door for the pigs to push open. you can throw bait in the center so the pig will be lured in. This is very effective but by the sounds of it, you need to make a permanent trap for all those hogs around there. You can then go back in the morning WITH SOMEONE ELSE ALWAYS AND BOTH OF YOU SHOULD BE ARMED AT MINIMUM WITH 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN WITH SLUGS or a rifle with equally high stopping power like a 30 06 or 30 30. Do not ever go out to the pin without being in a vehicle capable of going to the site and/or being armed to stop a charging 500 pound or heavier boar. I mention this because if their is a couple young pigs in the pin that can't get out, the mother pig may be sitting right out side of the pin trying to stay with her young and will attack viciously to protect her caged young. Always be careful and NEVER NEVER go to a pig pen alone. If you get hurt or wounded by a pig, you could be killed if nobody is their to help you. Check out videos of pig traps on you tube and you'll get an idea. It works very well. When you go back to the trap in the morning, the pigs will be trapped in the big cage and you can shoot them on site with your firearms right in the cage. You can adjust the size of the trap to your standards or the area. A 50 foot circle would be ideal to allow room for multiple pigs to enter and graze for the evening...... and don't forget to donate the dead hogs to the local butcher for feeding the homeless or less fortunate. Thank you if you decide to donate the hogs. Its very sportsman like of you and of course keep some for yourself to be processed into delicious lean bacon for breakfast. Sorry to hear about your cattle getting maimed. Those hogs are something else.

I've had border collies as farm dogs, and they do very well. They didn't go after the livestock... And border collies also do very well in the suburbs and/or city. I would know, because i've lived just about everywhere. They will need to be walked everyday.... and you said that the people who are interested in him will only walk him once a day? It would be more ideal to have more than one walk a day, but a really long walk once a day would be ok too... just as long as the dog gets enough exercise. If he has never been trained to herd... it would be up to the new owners to decide if they wanted him to be a herding dog, or if they wanted him as a family pet, because border collies are excellent family pets, herding or not. It seems like you really like this dog, and no one is up to your standards for him... why don't you adopt him...??? What to do with the pokey wire on my braces?

I went to the ortho yesterday and a wire is poking me. Badly. If you have braces, I'm sure you know what wire I'm talking about - the one in the back that sometimes sticks out and pokes the back of your cheek. I will be out of town for the next week, we are leaving town tomorrow at 5 in the morning, which is before my ortho's office opens. I have wax, but it never stays on for more than 2 minutes, it doesnt really help anyway, and I am almost out already. I've tried bending the wire but that does not help. I can't use nail clippers because I am not superhuman and cannot fit them into my mouth at the right angle to snip the wire. I don't know what to do. It hurts SUPER bad, and my cheek is all scratched up. Oh, and also, when I go to the orthodontics and they use the wire cutters in the back of my mouth, I am REALLY REALLY SUPER paranoid they will cut my skin with the wire(because you can feel the wire cutters touching your cheek as they are cutting the wire). I told the lady that works at my orthodontics office and she said that I was being "silly", and that would neverrrr happen. Lo and behold, in the next minute or two, she snipped my skin with the wire cutters, as she had promised me would NOT happen. It hurt SOO FREAKIN BAD. I yelped and told her that she cut me, and she didn't believe me, even though I was BLEEDING FROM IT. I am super scared this will happen again, and every time someone is about to cut a wire on my braces, I start to freak out and I fight the urge to cry(I know, what a wuss). I get this weird tingly feeling all over my body when I feel my skin make contact with the metal wire cutters, like I am about to pass out. How do I calm myself down when they use the wire cutters on me?

A New Interest in Gardens?

Well, we used to have a garden when we lived out in the country so that we could spend less money on our fruits and vegetables, but it's been quite a few years since we've raised our own food. I wasn't really interested in the idea of a garden because I had never tended to a garden. I was the girl who cared for our livestock and horses, but never a garden. We've recently moved to the city and had to slaughter our livestock, sell most horses, and pick the rest of our harvest from the garden we had, but the city has made me feel gross because of the pollution and such. To what extent should I accept my friend's decision?

So, I was told by my ex that his buddy was cheating on his wife, which btw she's eight months pregnant with their child, and I couldn't help but tell her bc I felt so bad knowing the secret. What I didn't even think of when I did this was that telling her this might make it more difficult for my ex at work and he's trying to get promoted. He called me upset and said it wasn't my business and I am still angry with him for the split so I said it wasn't his business bc we aren't together and I can say what I want. After I cooled down I realized I had broken his confidence and trust by revealing something I shouldn't have put my nose in and I sent him a text saying that. Also, when we were on the phone I found out he was going out tonight and I told him to go get drunk and **** a girl in anger and he responded with "maybe I will". I love him and want our family back and I totally fudged up with this, but my question is does this mistake make it so we can't ever possibly reconcile? Should I Be Worried About This?

So last week my boyfriend left to go to the beach, and he promised he'd text and call me everyday and send as much pictures as he can. But it's the end of the week, and the only communication I've gotten was in the beginning of the week when he was on his way there. Don't get me wrong, I want him to enjoy the beach and relaxing, but I text him in the mornings and before I go to bed, telling him to text back if he can, but he never does. Why won't this dog like me?

My boyfriend's dog HATES me! Literally. He has bitten me before, and when I first met him he growled, lunged at me and was snapping his teeth at me. Do all donkeys freak out?

Where I recently moved there is livestock... chickens, rabbits, and one goat and one donkey. I haven't been around donkeys so i don't know if this is normal or not but i was hoping someone who is familiar with them could answer me. He freaks out every few hours, his eyes bulge and he makes this really loud whining sound and shakes, it seems he's very uncomfortable when he does this. His owner seems to treat him really well, she lets him out to wander around the property freely when he's not inside his enclosed area, which by the way is really large so i doubt that would have an effect on anything. He does this throughout the day and into the night... they almost seem like panic attacks, donkey style. This doesn't bug me at all in the sense that it is annoying, not the least bit. What bugs me is if he's in pain. I don't know why but it makes me feel really sorry for him... so I am hoping someone will say that this is normal behavior so that I can have peace of mind. If you do say this is abnormal and that he's likely suffering... well i don't know if i can do anything about it but I'd still like to know. Thank You!

I've had this problem plenty of times, so don't believe there's an easy fix. However, I find what helps is skipping ahead in the plot to write a part that you look forward to, a part you already have figured out and is interesting enough that you really really want to write it. You'll find that the words will flow easier then. You can connect the parts later when you feel more like writing. I gave this answer to someone about a week ago and they found it extremely helpful. Worked for them and for me, so I hope it does for you too!

I’m in my mid twenties and I’m not petite, nor fat, nor anywhere around obesity at all. I’m just a little curvy. Picture the women in the Haynes commercials. Well, that’s me except for a smaller stomach. I have curves that I’m very proud of and wouldn’t trade for anything. After all, in my opinion, that’s one of the things that makes a women right? Well, not in my mother’s eyes. She is very petite for her size. She’s all about appearance really. And she is constantly getting on me about my weight. In high school I use to be a little skinnier (no hips or breasts) and she wants me to be like I was (as she remembered me to be). At first I paid her no attention. After all it’s like I said. I wasn’t anywhere near fat at all. Just curvier. But then she started to do and say things. Once she told me when we were having a talk that she was embarrassed of me as her daughter whenever I came around her and her friends. She asked me how I would feel if she was like me and she came around me and my friends. I burst out into tears toward the harsh comment. Then she hugged me and apologized when I was trying to push her away for such a comment. But this is just the tip of the icing. She says other things. She said she would buy me a car but I had to lose the weight she requires first. She tries to bribe me in many ways. It’s so bad that if I’m in the kitchen and she comes in, I have to hurry and hide whatever I am fixing so she doesn’t say anything to me. At one point I was so depressed I completely STOPPED eating for like a week and on the 5th day she came to me and was like “you look good. Whatever your doing is working.” I told her I wasn’t eating and she was like “keep it up”. Every day she asks me the same question. Are you working out? She explains to me that I need to look good because I’m still single and no guy wants a girl like me. She tells me guys want skinny girls. I tell her that these things hurt my feelings but she doesn’t listen nor care. Because a couple of days later she is back to doing and saying things. This has sadly changed our relationship over the years. Lately it’s been bad and my boyfriend wants me to say something or he will. I tell him you can’t change a person and told him I was moving out. But he doesn’t think that will help sense she will call and I will still see her once in a while for Holidays. I don’t know what to do. I love my mother but being around her is KILLING my self esteem. I find the more time Im with her the more time I come down on myself for the way I look and this causes me to stay in and not want to be seen by others because of what she puts in my head. What to do? 
